Snorkeling

Tired but excited!
Today, we woke up earlier than we ever have during this entire vacation!  5:30 AM and quickly dressed in our swimming suit and got ready for the snorkeling excursion to the small island of Molokini!  Everyone was pretty groggy but still excited to see the coral reef. s We were also hoping to see some turtles as well!

Once we boarded, they gave us a small continental breakfast and our gear for snorkeling.  It was a pretty long ride to get to the snorkel area and Brother #4 got seasick and threw up which made me and Mother feel a little sick as well. (and probably grossed our anyone who saw).  Luckily, this happened a little bit before we stopped to snorkel.  I quickly got off the boat along with Brother #1, 2, and 3.  After swimming around a bit, Father gave me a camera he rented and let me take some pictures of the beautiful coral and fish.

I swam around for around an hour before passing the camera off to Brother #1 and getting back on the boat, where Brother #2 and 3 were sitting around, goofing off.  Then we decided to use the slide that was attached to the boat and jump off the side of the boat straight into the ocean water, which entertained us for around 30 minutes.  After that, Brother #1 joined us and we played until lunch.

Lunch was a sandwich and macaroni which filled me up.  By now, everyone had returned to the boat but they announced that we wouldn't be going to Turtle Town since the south swells were making it unfavorable and we wouldn't be able to see anything.  At first, everyone was a little disappointed, but we managed to get over it.

The ride back was much rockier than the first and Father got seasick.  Luckily, he didn't throw up and neither did anyone else.  There were some nice views along the way and there was a trivia game.  Unfortunately, we didn't win, but we didn't mind losing either.  Once we got back to the harbor, they let us off the boat and we drove to our room.

Once we came back to Kihei, Mother wanted to check out the local craft fair and looked around.  We didn't buy much, just a coconut, which was decent.  There were stuff for sale with obvious  "Made in Phillipines" sticker still on the items that made it unappealing.  We purchased the coconut for $6, which is much less than the ladies we met earlier this week at Big Beach who got scammed and bough it for $20.

That's not all we ate.  After that, we went to the highly praised Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice to get, well, shave ice.  We ordered a large with macadamia ice cream on the bottom, and the flavors we chose were coconut, strawberry and pineapple with a snow cap (which turned out to be condensed milk drizzled on top) and shared it between the two of us.  It was very delicious and worth the 10 minute wait.

We capped off the day by relaxing in the pool and the jacuzzi. We will be going to bed early since we have a long day ahead of us.
