Walking around the city is actually really fun and I enjoy it a lot more than just riding around in a car. I feel like I can absorb my surroundings better and it's just more fun, so I actually kind of like that we have to walk everywhere. Of course, not everyone agrees with me. My Brothers were a bit disappointed since we didn't rent a car on this leg of the trip, but like I said, I don't mind. Mother even joked that it's a good thing since I won't need a car in Boston when I go to college.
When we got to the beach, we set our things down and I dashed into the water. It wasn't too hot today, but I still wanted to dive in ASAP. The water felt freezing at first but I slowly got used to it. The water was also very clear and since there was a small rock wall they weren't too choppy either. The Baby was too afraid to even let the water touch him so he just stayed on the beach part and chilled with Mother and Father while the older kids splashed around the water. Of course, after a while, it was time for lunch. I went with Mother to get some lunch, luckily, Waikiki Beach area is overflowing with restaurants and itss a short walk from the beach and we got it in no time. We all ate everything up pretty quickly and just as quickly ran back into the water.
Nothing too interesting happened after that. Mother took the Baby who was down for his nap. Little while later, while we were washing off sand in one of the showers, some old, homeless man came over and settled down by a tree near the shower. It was kind of strange to see him just plop down and go to sleep.
Later, we had dinner and Mother and I went out to exchange some shoes we had gotten earlier. While out, Mother treated me to some Haagan Dasz ice cream for going with her to the store, and stopped by a street vendor to buy a flower clip. There were a lot of homeless out on the street at this time, young and old alike.
I think it's time for a change of scenery...
The next day, we woke up and began to pack for Maui. Everything went with ease and the flight was around 20 minutes long, although we were expecting it to be 40. After the flight, we took a shuttle to Avis and rented two 4 passenger cars and made our way to the condo we were renting. Why two cars instead of one? It came out cheaper to do it that way since we are a family of 8. We settled in and Mother and I made our way to the grocery store. Unfortunately, I missed the sunset, but the next day we lounged around-and got to see the sunset, which was stunning. There's a beach five minutes away from our condo and we went there to see it. The third day after that, we decided to go to that same beach. However, since the wind was blowing so hard, the waves were way too choppy and Mother was getting pelted by the sand. So we went to the pool instead, where we chilled until dinner.
Mother took me back to the room where I showered and she got dinner ready. After I was done, we went back to the pool and began to grill the food Mother had prepared since there are some grills by the poolside. Food tastes great when you are in Paradise!
Unfortunately, no pictures this time since we used our waterproof camera to take pics. But I will update when I can!
