We have some catching up to do...

Tickets
Our second to last day in Vegas, we began to pack for our Hawaii trip and then chilled at the pool.  The Brothers entered a hula-hooping contest and won some prizes.  We could only stay for 2 hours because Father got us tickets to see Ka by Cirque du Soleil, which began at 7. I thought the story was very interesting and it had some really cool visual effects, but the Brothers didn't really understand the story. However, you don't have to understand it to enjoy it because of the the visuals.  After the show, we went straight to the room and finished packing.

The Zeng corner!
The next day, we got up at around 6 and loaded everything into the car and drove to the airport.  We were only on the plane for around an hour (which I slept through) until we had to land at LAX for mechanical issues, which took around 3 hours.  It was definitely annoying but they gave us meal vouchers so we could have lunch.  Mother was talking to a lady while in line for lunch and she said every time she flies on Hawaiian Air there is mechanical issues.  After we got on the plane, they activated the Premium package so we could watch movies, listen to music,  and TV shows for free, which was nice.  They also gave out free Mai Tai drinks and Maui Onion chips to brighten everyone's mood! (at least the 21 and over crowd).  I spent the rest of the ride listening to music and finishing up my art homework.
Landing!

The View
We finally arrived in Honolulu!!  We quickly checked into our rooms and beelined straight to Waikiki Beach area which was only 2 blocks away.   We wanted to eat at this nearby Korean place, but the guy who worked there had real attitude problem so we immediately left to find our dinner elsewhere. After dinner, as we were strolling by the Beach to watch fireworks, we saw 4 teenagers beating up a random guy.  Happy Independence Day!
Today, we woke up fairly early and began our long and tiring walk to Diamond Head Crater.  The whole trip was 5 miles round trip and took 4 hours, but the view was amazing.  It was definitely interesting to see all the tall hotels from far away and see the Hawaiian local life, which is beautiful.  As we walked, we saw the flowers that leis are made of and some other colorful things.  While walking there, my Father saw some plants growing on a tree and wondered if they were guavas.  My mother picked one from the tree and took a bite out of it.

Let's just say it was NOT guava.

There was some whining, but we were rewarded with shaved ice at the end of the hike.  The shave ice was okay, I've definitely had more authentic shaved ice when I went to Kauai. (Jo-Jo's here we come!) But it was enough to get us to feel refreshed and energized for our walk back!
