Mother and Father went out early today to buy tickets for some fun activities! After they came back, we made our way out to the Haleakala National Park. It was a long ride to get there and all the twists and turns gave some of us bad motion sickness. However, after a good lunch and a full stomach, I felt better and the view was worth it!

Group photo+Baby's throne! |
The view, even when we were just driving up, was amazing. We were above the clouds and the temperature dipped from 80 to 60 degrees. We stopped several times at the scenic stops to get a nice look at the scenery. The Baby particularly enjoyed looking over the edge and running around while giving my parents heart attacks. When we did get to the top, the Baby got pretty settled down between some rocks and just sat there, perfectly content throwing rocks at people. It was cute at first, but he didn't want to leave when we were and that was annoying.

The Silversword |
While at the top of the summit, brother #2 decided it would be fun to do a goofy dance that gets our family laughing hysterically! We also got a good look at the
silversword, a plant only found in Maui, which looked very interesting. We even got a good look at a
Nene, the Hawaiian state bird which is only found in the wild on the islands of Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and Hawaii. Unfortunately, it got a bit startled by us before we could take some pictures, so it ran away.
The ride down was much quicker and prettier since the sun was coming down and it was brighter. There were also some more clouds which only made it even more picturesque. We originally wanted to hike a trail, but sun was already starting to set so we decided that we would come back another time.
